Believed to have developed amongst market traders and petty criminals in the mid-19th century, Cockney Rhyming Slang is one of London’s most famous quirks and, although not as widely heard as it once was, this fun and playful language remains an important aspect of the city’s character.
As a companion to my earlier A-Z Guide of Cockney Rhyming Slang post, I have now put together a video version on my Youtube Channel which contains some new phrases and goes into a little more detail.
If you have any thoughts or ideas for other London-themed videos that you’d like to see me make please feel free suggest them in the comments! Subscriptions and likes on the robslondon Youtube channel are also highly welcome as they’ll help both the channel and this website to grow.
Thanks, and enjoy!
