London Tube 1983 Stock Mug
Description
Designed in the early 1980s, the London tube 1983 stock operated on the Jubilee line. They were notable for their orange and yellow interiors and single leaf doors. Their lifespan was relatively short and they were retired in 1998.
Today, several of these old cars can be seen in Shoreditch where they provide workspace for the Village Underground complex. Another 1983 Stock car can be found at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital where it acts as a studio for ‘Radio Lollipop’.
The Jubilee line on which the trains operated is listed on the mug alongside a vivid print of my hand drawn image of the London tube 1983 stock train carriage.
Whether you’re drinking your morning coffee, evening tea, or something in between – this mug’s for you! It’s sturdy and glossy with a vivid print that’ll withstand the microwave and dishwasher.
